Toelichting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Met het sterk toegenomen autoverkeer<\/strong> in de Tiensestraat (verkeer van de Kempen van en naar de E314) is het vaak heel moeilijk geworden, zeker tijdens de spitsuren, om als fietser of voetganger<\/strong> het kruispunt met de Vossekotstraat over te steken. De snelheidslimiet is daar ook 70 km\/u. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Bezorgde ouders<\/strong> laten hun kinderen tot 10 minuten omrijden <\/strong>om dit kruispunt te vermijden. Ook komen er meldingen tot bij ons van fietsers die minutenlang moeten wachten in de gietende regen om het kruispunt over te steken. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dit kruispunt werd ook meermaals aangeduid als gevaarlijk punt op de Velo-Veilig enquete in mei 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Een goede en goedkope oplossing zou zijn om daar zebrapaden <\/strong>aan te leggen, zodat de zwakke weggebruiker makkelijker het kruispunt zou kunnen oversteken. Omdat dit in beide richtingen moet kunnen, zou een zebrapad aan beide kanten van het kruispunt nuttig en nodig zijn. De beste locatie voor het zebrapad (voor of na de vluchtheuvel) laten we over aan verkeersexperten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agendapunt<\/strong> voor de gemeenteraad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Het stadSZteam dient een agendapunt in op de gemeenteraad van 20 juni 2024. Daarin wordt de goedkeuring gevraagd van volgende artikelen die ter stemming worden voorgelegd:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art. 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De stad verbindt er zich toe om zebrapaden <\/strong>te voorzien <\/strong>aan het kruispunt Tiensestraat\/Vossekotstraat <\/strong>opdat de zwakke weggebruiker veiliger<\/strong> zou kunnen oversteken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art. 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De stad verbindt er zich toe om de uitvoering van artikel 1 zo spoedig mogelijk uit te voeren, liefst voor het begin van het volgende schooljaar 2 september 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meld andere gevaarlijke punten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mede dankzij de Velo Veilig enquete heeft het stadSZteam al een goed overzicht van de voor fietsers gevaarlijke punten in Scherpeneheuvel-Zichem.
